Chris Young

Chris is one of the most experienced cameramen in the business.  He started his career in the late 60s at the BBC, where he trained and worked as a film cameraman.

   
 

Through the 70s and 80s, he worked as an independent cameraman and producer in South East Asia and Australia, working on news, current affairs, drama and documentaries as well as providing staff training at SBS and the ABC.

 

Chris has worked for all of Australia's free-to-air broadcasters along with the leading cable and satellite networks such as Galaxy, Optus, TV1, Fox Sport and Sky Channel.  He is also regularly commissioned by foreign broadcasters including the BBC, Granada, TVNZ, VH1 USA Cable, Deutsche Welle, Sat-1 Germany, IDTV Holland, Sky TV Greece, TVB Hong Kong and CNN.

 

Chris oversaw the design, installation and commissioning of two broadcast presentation suites for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and supervised the twenty-four hour video feeds and graphics to various large screen venues in Sydney.

 

In addition to his broadcast work, Chris produces many corporate videos for training, commercial and promotional purposes.  Clients include the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, ACP Syme Publications, Qantas, Saachi & Saachi, Wesfarmers, British Airways, the Royal Australian Navy, State Rail, Telstra, Zurich Financial Services, Pepsi-Cola Australia, Financial Planning Association of Australia, CPA Australia, Hyperion Asset Management and Chubb.

 

'Chris is a registered Beta tester for Sony Creative Software' a division of Sony Corporation of America.  He is a Full Member of SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) and a Member of  the Guild of Television Cameramen, UK.
